In Every Thought a Riddle, Eli discovers a strange inscription on the inside of a popular new puzzle toy. After investigating, it becomes clear that only a few of the puzzles contain these messages. Is it only a coincidence that he received one of them?
Old friends reemerge in The Sparrow's Gift. After Eli's neighbor Ms. Henry passes away, her house remains vacant. But strange have been coming from the backyard in the middle of the night. And the secret may lie with the renegades.
Finally, in An Unrequested Package, Nathan enlists Eli's help in investigating the source of unmarked packages that keep being left on his doorstep. When the two set up a camera, they can't believe what (and who) they catch in the act.
